Hi,
So, I know I haven’t been updating anything in a long while, however, I did make quite a few updates to the game. Mainly, switching from the Built-In Render pipeline of Unity to the Universal Render Pipeline.
The reason for the choice is pretty simple. My game does not ask for ultra-realistic graphics and hence I can afford some to lose some of the fidelity that comes with HDRP.
Currently, the game is also updated to Unity Engine ver 2022.3. Which is the stable LTS version for this update.
As for the changes and look and feel, I think I’ll let the video below do the honors.
Alongside all that, there are some gameplay updates as well which are the following:
Power Cores:
So the system is that Sarah (the main protagonist), her arm has a device that can change her biological characteristics as well in the following three ways:
- Normal (Blue)
- Increase Speed (Yellow) (Hermes)
- Increase Damage (Red) (Cratus)
- Increase Defense (Green) (Asclepius)
As with the names, they are named after their respective Greek gods who embody the traits. Additionally, the East Button on the controller will do specific movements based on the mode Sarah is in.
As with the different modes.
Hermes: This greatly boosts speed, movement and attack. The East button on the controller can now initiate a blink movement which will teleport her a short distance at the cost of her energy (the blue bar above the health). However, her defense and damage will be reduced
Cratus: This will increase her damage but reduce her speed and defense. The East button in this mode, will create shockwaves that will travel forward and will damage anyone it comes in contact with.
Asclepius: The third mode, which will increase defense but reduce speed and damage. However, this is the mode in which, when the East button is pressed, energy will be converted into health. This is the only way to get health back in the game as health packs that fall from enemies have been completely eliminated.
Additionally with all the three modes, the player will be able to get a total of 9 upgrades throughout the game and the game will then reward the player on extra once all the 9 have been collected.
Each of the three modes can be upgraded 10 times, but in one playthrough, the player must chose the style they wish to follow as the 9 upgrades will only increase the core it is put into, but the 10th or the last one will bump up the stats on all of the 3 stats and also upgrade the base stat as well.
This will encourage the player to play the game multiple times to try and test out varied builds each with their own strength in their own unique way.
